The Japanese-American Goodwill Tournament was arranged by inviting Seishun Gakuen and selected American junior high school students to have matches. Although it was originally to strengthen the bonds between USA and Japan, it is also a front to promote the American junior players to the public.


Coach : Richard Baker

Richard Baker spent his life scouting promising young tennis players and promoting them to the public. After all, he will get the money if any of his pets become known. His prime concern is the money obtained from the Japanese-American Goodwill Tournament, and he uses his team's fervor and troubles to achieve his goal.

Tom Griffiths, together with his brother Terry, composed Doubles 2 of the American Team. They owe a lot of their fame to their coach, that is why they are forced to follow his every decision. I really don't know how their last name is spelled, since I initially translated the katakana as the one above, but I saw some other people using "Griffey." Please correct me and give me some proof if ever I was wrong. ^^;;;;
